Purpose of the E. Portfolio

The purpose of this E. Portfolio is to showcase my professional growth and development throughout my journey in the field of counseling since beginning the Education Specialist in School Counseling program at Kansas State University in the Fall of 2023. This E. Portfolio highlights how my learning connects to the CACREP standards, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of the essential principles of counseling. Overall, the E-Portfolio will not only serve as a testament to my academic achievements but also as a professional tool to demonstrate my readiness to contribute to the counseling field with integrity and dedication.

Why School Counseling?

I firmly hold the belief that all students deserve to have a trusted adult in their lives that they can count on unconditionally, and this guides my practice as a school counselor. It is a privilege to serve our students and school counselors hold such a unique position in the manner in which we can do so. The American School Counselor Association’s School Counselor Professional Standards & Competencies states “School counselors believe every student can learn, and every student can succeed”. This is a mindset that I stand behind and believe wholeheartedly. Within the domains of social-emotional learning, academics, and career readiness we are able to support all students in their ability to succeed.
